JSON Support in SQL Server 2016

Russ Loski

With more than one thousand votes, one Connect item caught Microsoft's attention. Support for JSON data was one of the top requested items on Microsoft's Connect site. With SQL Server 2016 Microsoft has finally provided functions for working with JSON. Russ Loski will introduce JSON. What is JSON and how is it used? We will then look at the methods for extracting row sets from JSON. Finally, we will look at how to output JSON from a SQL query.

About Russ:
Russ has been working with SQL Server since version 6.5. He is a database developer who primarily works to extract data with tools such as SSIS, .Net and Transact SQL. He is a member of the North Texas SQL Server Users Group and has presented to various SQL Saturdays about SSIS and XML.
